Archer Hale is a withdrawn, anti-social, and isolated young man in the town of Pelion. He lost his ability to speak after a tragic accident in which he lost his father; Marcus Hale, mother; Alyssa Hale, and uncle; Connor Hale.

The accident damaged him both physically and emotionally. He was homeschooled and grew up under the care of his other uncle, Nathan Hale. The town people shunned him, forcing him to live an isolated life. He lost everybody after Uncle Nathan’s death and now has nobody. 

Bree Prescott is a compassionate, kind, and amiable young woman. She left Ohio and decided to reside in Pelion after a burglar killed her father. She immensely loved her father, who was also mute. The incident haunts her life, and she suffers from nightmares. She needed a fresh start. 

Travis Hale is Archer’s cousin and a police officer, just like his father; Connor Hale. He is charismatic, handsome, and popular among the ladies. He is a serial heartbreaker with a tainted reputation. He considers Archer a freak and doesn’t bother to interact with him. 

Tori Hale is Travis’s mother. She is vicious, cunning, and manipulative. She owns the town and upholds an almighty attitude. She absolutely despises Archer and would go to any lengths to hinder his happiness.

Archer’s Voice follows the narrative of Bree Prescott. After a tragic incident that took away her father, she moved to the close-knit town of Pelion to get a fresh start. Steadily, she starts settling in the town. She encounters Archer Hale outside the grocery store for the first time. Something about the mysterious man fascinated her. She gets acquainted with Archer’s past from the town gossip. She emphasizes with the man.

Circumstances force Bree and Archer into close proximity. They communicate via sign language, and over time, they develop a strong bond. Bree is enamored by the thoughtful and loving man. Archer is unfamiliar with kindness and love, so he is suspicious of Bree’s intentions but gradually starts opening up to her. A heartwarming story about two equally damaged yet kind people. Although their journey isn’t easy.

Archer is insecure and fearful. He sees himself unworthy of Bree’s love.

On the day of the police parade, a fight breaks out between Travis and Archer, which leads to revelations. The truth about Archer’s true father is revealed in front of the whole town. That is the final nail to the coffin. 

Archer packs his stuff and leaves the town on a journey of healing. He decides to explore the world and find an identity. 

Bree is heartbroken but understands Archer’s decision. She decides to wait for him.

He returns after a few months, and they meet on New Year’s Eve.

Archer is now a different individual; he isn’t scared of people, isn’t insecure, and is ready for challenges. 

The final plot twist occurs when, on Victoria’s information, Bree’s father’s murderer finds Bree. 

He shoots at her, but Archer takes the bullet.

Fortunately, he is saved and becomes the town hero. He takes over the town as the rightful son of Connor Hale.

The book ends with glimpses of Archer and Bree’s beautiful life together. They are happily married with kids.
